On Thursday 16 November, the students travelled to DCU with their teachers and were overwhelmed by the high standard of application this year. The students and their teachers can take great pride in securing two awards for Original Storytelling and Cinematography. It was a wonderful day and one which the students will remember for many years to come. We are so proud of everyone for their involvement. Máith sibh go léir.
The FÍS awards are held each year in the Helix theatre at DCU. They celebrate schools that have entered short films in the awards, offering prizes for best cinematography, best costumes, best original story and best overall film among others. Our school had the distinction of having two films produced to incredibly high standards this year, both of which were nominated in several categories. Mr. Doyle and Mr. Herity produced the films 'Last Laugh' and 'Frozen Fortune' with their classes at the end of the last academic year. The films can be viewed by visiting the FÍS website http://www.fisfilmproject.ie/
