Thank you to the Parents' Committee for organising a hugely successful Christmas raffle. The results have been posted to a special link on the website which can be accessed by clicking here.
On Monday last (18 December) we were joyous in voice as the staff and student choirs performed a selection of Christmas songs in our local church. This is the first year that we have hosted such an event and given the strength and fervour of the assembled congregation, it is agreed that Carols for the Community was a resounding success. People from the Huntstown community were in awe of the incredible talent here in our school and were delighted to share in this special occasion. The choirs performed Christmas carols and hymns and the student orchestra provided instrumental support. We are as always indebted to the teachers and staff who supported and coordinated this event. It was a fitting way to set the mood for the Christmas period. We wish everyone peace and joy for the season.
As part of our Christmas celebrations, we have organised an evening of music and song entitled Carols for the Community in our local church (the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus, Huntstown) on Monday December 18th from 7.30p.m. - 8.30p.m.
Our pupils’ and staff choirs will sing at this event. Admission is free and the event will be open to all members of the public. This promises to be a wonderful performance with the students and staff presenting a medley of carols, hymns and Christmas favourites. It will be quite a special occasion for all the family and we hope to see many pupils, family members and members of our community at the event. 20th December Update: The list of winners can be viewed on this page:
sacredhearthuntstown.weebly.com/christmas-raffle.html Our Parents’ Association is organising a Christmas raffle to raise funds for our school. A book of raffle tickets has been sent home with each child. We would greatly appreciate if you could support the school by trying to sell the raffle tickets. Additional tickets will also be available from your child’s class teacher for those who are in a position to sell or purchase more than one book. If you are unable to sell some or all of the raffle tickets, we understand and ask you to please return the unsold tickets to the class teacher. The closing date for return of ticket stubs is Friday, 14th December, and the draw will take place on Wednesday, 20th December. A seller’s prize will be given to one pupil in each of our 34 classes. There are 6 tickets costing €2 each in a book, or 6 tickets can be bought for €10. There is a huge array of prizes for the raffle including:
This will be the Parents’ Association main fundraiser this year and will replace the donation envelope (brown envelope) collections. The school struggles to operate within the constraints of Department of Education funding and your support of this raffle would be greatly appreciated as the financial support provided by parents to the school is crucial to our continued success. Thank you once again for your support of this raffle and our most sincere thanks to everyone who has donated to the incredible prize pot for this raffle. Thank you also to the Parents’ Association for organising the raffle and for the great work they do on behalf of all students in the school. |
