The shop is located outside Ms Donohoe's classroom on the red corridor. Students will be reminded to visit the shop each morning, where they can purchase wonderful items such as t-shirts, mugs, torches, pencils, pens, rulers and bags. There are special offers available for multiple purchases. Stocks are limited so students should try to purchase now to avoid disappointment later. Thank you to the students and teachers who are running the shop.
The Primary Science Fair is held each year in the RDS, directly after the Christmas break. Our school was thrilled and honoured to present its project entitled 'Does age have an impact on how we perceive optical illusions?' The judges were hugely impressed by the quality of the project and the depth of the research undertaken by the students. The students presented their project to the public and other participating schools on Thursday 12 January and received lots of interest and enthusiasm by those in attendance. There was also time for the group to explore the BT young scientist exhibition where they were able to enjoy the wonders of science. The group looked at other projects and engaged in science experiments. They participated in a drumming workshop, saw real robots in action and learned about the cosmos in a three dimensional presentation. A great day was enjoyed by all and we are so proud of our wonderful students. Well done everyone. Beir bua.
Our preparations for the upcoming musical 'Back to the 80's' continue apace. The boys and girls have been very busy rehearsing at lunch time and after school. The dance routines are very impressive and the singing and acting will leave no one in doubt of the incredible talents of our students. Tickets for the show are now on sale and should be booked directly through the box office in Draíocht. The show opens on the Draíocht stage on Wednesday 8 February and runs until Saturday 11 February. There is a matinee performance on the Saturday.
