Home-School Communication POLICY
In order to achieve high standards in all areas, the school relies on the full support and co-operation of parents/guardians. The school promotes and encourages the following strategies to help develop effective home-school links:
- Our school uses the Aladdin Schools Software Service for administrative and communication purposes. The parent portal, Aladdin Connect, enables parents/guardians to stay connected and informed about their child's education. It is essential that all parents/guardians register for and utilise this platform, either via the Aladdin Connect app or via an internet browser on any internet-enabled device, as it will be utilised as the primary means of communication between home and school. School staff will contact parents/guardians when necessary and are contactable via Aladdin Connect.
- The child’s homework journal (First to Sixth Class) is used as a form of communication for simple day-to-day matters.
- Parents/guardians are asked to provide the school with a mobile phone number to which the school can send texts regarding school closures, holidays, etc.
- Parents/guardians are asked to provide an e-mail address to which the school can send information regarding school closures, holidays, etc.
- It is essential that the school is always provided with current contact details of parents/guardians.
- Parents/guardians must inform the school of reasons for absence of pupils. Parents/guardians must inform the school of any relevant medical issues.
- Parents/guardians must inform the school of any relevant custody/guardianship/collection arrangements.
- Formal meetings with parents/guardians are held every year in November/December. Parents/guardians are given an opportunity to meet the class teacher individually, at a mutually convenient time. Parents/guardians who wish to meet the teacher at any other time should make an appointment. For safety reasons, parents/guardians are asked not to delay teachers in the morning.
