Welcome
Millennium Time Capsule!
In December 1999 many pupils of Sacred Heart of Jesus National School, Huntstown, Dublin 15 completed letters and/or drawings and placed them in a Time Capsule in January 2000 to mark the Millennium.
The Time Capsule remained sealed for 25 years .... and we then opened it in November 2025!
We have sorted through the pupils' letters and drawings and are now seeking to make contact with pupils and families of pupils from that time to give them a copy of their letter/drawing from 1999/2000 at an event in the school at 7pm on Thursday 29th January!
Please complete the online form at https://www.surveymonkey.com/r/HNYFMD9 if you or a family member attended our school in 1999/2000 and please pass the link on to any past pupils who you know attended our school in 1999/2000. We will check if there is a corresponding letter/drawing in the Time Capsule from the pupils detailed on the online form and reply to let them know if we do or do not have a letter/drawing of theirs.
We invite you to come to the school to collect your drawing/letter at an event on Thursday, 29th January at 7pm.
We will have tea, coffee and refreshments at the event and we hope that it will be a great opportunity for past pupils to receive their contributions from the year 2000 and to hopefully catch up with some old school friends over a cuppa!
The evening will run from 7pm – 8.30pm, with a brief formal welcome at 7.15pm, and we would appreciate it if you would please complete the brief online form at www.surveymonkey.com/r/77RCYW9 to let us know if you will make it to the event or not. If past pupils or a member of their family cannot attend the event, we will send them a scanned copy of their letter after the event when provided with their email address. We also ask for past pupils to allow the school to retain a photocopy of the letter/drawing as an important piece of primary history of our wonderful school.
When we told our current pupils about the Millennium Time Capsule, they were very excited to read what pupils of our school wrote 25 years ago and suggested that we continue the story by writing new letters in 2025 and placing them in the Time Capsule until 2050! We thought that this is a brilliant idea and the pupils completed their letters in December, ready to refill the Time Capsule after our event on Thursday, 29th January!
Thank you for your interest in this event and we look forward to meeting many of our past pupils on the evening! Please share the news with pupils who attended the school in the Year 2000!

Welcome to Scoil an Chroí Ró Naofa Íosa, Huntstown. We are a co-educational primary school serving the community of Huntstown in Dublin 15. Established initially as a two teacher junior school, Scoil an Chroí Ró Naofa Íosa has served the parish of Huntstown since 1982. In that time it has seen some extraordinary changes. With a student body in excess of 850 and a teaching staff of nearly 50, we are one of the largest primary schools in the country. The school appointed Mr John Lynch as its first principal and together with Sr Madeline, Mrs Wilcox he happily led the school for over twenty years. Following his retirement, Mr Séan Dempsey was appointed principal, with Mr Kieran Lyons taking over the role in 2016. The school operates under a Catholic ethos and aims to welcome all students. It has a proud tradition of embracing multiculturalism and is proudly recognised as 'Yellow Flag' school which celebrates diversity and inclusion. We offer the highest standards in education provision and look forward to welcoming you to our school.
The original building has been extensively redesigned and redeveloped. Between 2004 and 2006 we moved into our newly extended building with its impressive central Atrium and bright and inviting classrooms. The redevelopment of our playing areas and pitches ensures that our school provides the best possible facilities to all of our students. We look forward to welcoming you to our school and hope that you find our school website useful.
