Bhí spraoi de gach sórt againn inniu agus muid ag ullmhú do Lá Fhéile Pádraig. Bhí ceol agus rince sa halla. Bhí Amhrán na gCupán san Atrium le Rang 3. Chuir gach einne dath glas orthu.
Rang 5 (Ms Lee) have been very busy recently preparing their business ideas as part of the Junior Entrepreneur Programme. It teaches boys and girls to design and develop sensible business ideas and then market them. One group of clever students decided to make personalised frames for our community. The frames had beautiful messages and were very popular among those who visited the fair in the atrium yesterday.
Well done to all involved. We had an amazing time when the 'Big Dig' visited our school. This was an opportunity for the students to learn all about how historians and archaeologists work. They were allowed to take shovels and brushes and dig in the replica of a Viking settlement. They uncovered artefacts such as swords, cups, tools and spears. They were given an expert description by the guides. It was a wonderful experience. Ms Mullany successfully organised another wonderful fortnight of World Book Day events. This included the highly anticipated Book Fair in the Atrium. All of our boys and girls and their families were able to visit the Fair where they found a range of fiction and non-fiction texts to purchase. We are as always, indebted to the parents who thoughtfully operate the Fair for us. Our school has long been involved in the FÍS Film awards. We have a strong tradition of success, securing a whole range of prizes for the amazing films we produce. This is a wonderful opportunity for our students to create interesting stories and present them on film using new and emerging technologies.
This year Mr Doyle was delighted to attend the Helix theatre in DCU with his class, where they accepted yet another award for 'Outstanding Achievement in Filmmaking - Originality'. The film 'A Glitch Away From Reality' was beautifully produced by the boys and girls and it is further evidence of the talents and skills that are bountiful in our school community. Well done to all involved. |
